Adding Color to a Professional Wardrobe

 Summer style for office

Hello loves! I hope you had a great long weekend and enjoyed some outdoor time. There’s nothing like a day spent in the sun, it rejuvenates your spirit I think.  Memorial Day for me was spent with the windows open and some family time, also good for your spirit! Yesterday, when I went into work I felt really confident in my outfit and had to share it with you today! Since summer is unofficially starting, I wanted to wear something that was colorful and reminded me of this wonderful season. And voila! Here it is!

Basic girl style

This cute little outfit is composed of old and new items in my closet. The top is from Old Navy and the skirt is from C. Wonder (since closed). My necklace was a beautiful gift from my boyfriend and my sunnies are a gift from his mom! I did a post on the studded sandals a few weeks ago that you can read here.

Bold color combos like this are easy to wear if you accessorize them correctly to distract from the bright colors. If you can find a great necklace or belt to wear, it breaks up the outfit into separate pieces and allows the eye to examine each one individually instead of as a whole. Similar to the color blocking trend. Plus, it just looks cute! I’ve linked similar pieces below for you to browse! Enjoy!

    • Thanks Kristin! I love it for evenings too! Although this girl spends a lot of nights eating ice cream on the couch instead of bar hopping lol

  1. LOVE this look! I’m beginning to transition into more work clothes and I found them to be plain sometimes so this piece came at a really good time for me! 🙂 Keep up the fab work!

    • Oh yay! Glad I could help! Just find pieces with lots of color, that’s what I do. Definitely buy a few basics in a solid color like this so you can add accessories!
