Hey girls! I hope your week is going well! Let’s just say I’m glad it’s finally Wednesday. This time of the year just wears me out. Between keeping up with this blog, staying on top of things at work, and trying to get all my decorating done, I get overwhelmed! One of the things that seems to take up a lot of time every Christmas season is figuring out what to get people on my Christmas gift list. I have my own personal tastes and things that I like to give and get and honestly, it drives me crazy that not everyone will appreciate a scented candle!
For the coffee lover in your life, here’s a handy gift guide with fun gifts to give! Coffee is something I can’t live without. My mornings are simply not complete without a little caffeine in my cup! Recently, I bought myself a Christmas Kate Spade travel mug (pictured above) and while simple, it’s the cutest thing! It’s my favorite thing on this list too. Anyway, get to shoppin’ everyone! Enjoy this simple and sweet Christmas gift guide!
Happy Monday lovelies! I hope you’ve recovered from your crazy Thanksgiving festivities and are on the mend. My Thanksgiving was quite busy in San Antonio; David and I spent it with his family and friends. Frankly, I’m still stuffed from all of the food! I think I had about five plates of turkey and stuffing by the end of the day. No regrets! This season is so wonderful for yummy treats but so terrible for my waistline.
Since Christmas is now in full swing, I went and browsed the Target dollar section to see what holiday goodies I could find and I wasn’t disappointed! They had cute Christmas salt and pepper shakers, wrapping paper, snow globe place cards, hats and mittens, and plenty of glittery items! I bought Christmas themed dish towels (with Christmas trees on them, of course) and this adorable pink Christmas tree I wanted to share with you guys!
You’ll never guess how much it cost! It was $3! You don’t even know how excited I am about something so small and simple. The ornaments were also $3 for the whole box. The Target dollar spot is my favorite place to find fun little decorative items like this for cheap. I think we can all relate to how hard it is to go into the store just needing one thing and not come out with an additional $50 worth of stuff. The struggle is real!
Where will I be putting my new pink tree? On my desk at work of course! I like to add a little merriment wherever I go. Hopefully no one in the office will mind all of the glitter that follows! Anyway, tell me about your recent Target dollar section finds in the comments! I love to see what other Targets have in their dollar spots!
Happy Monday girls! I can’t believe this week is Thanksgiving. I’ll be spending the holiday with David’s family and hopefully do a little Black Friday shopping with his sisters. One of my favorite parts of the entire weekend isn’t the turkey or the overall merriment (though it is enjoyable!) but it’s the opportunity to support small businesses on Small Business Saturday! Other than checking out a few of the Downtown Dallas boutiques and going to the Farmer’s Market, I usually don’t have much time to shop local. If I want something special and unique, I always turn to Etsy! In anticipation for the holiday season starting, I’ve included links to my favorite Christmas Etsy finds pictured above!
- Pine Tree Garland from Felt Witch (link here)
- Illustrated Christmas Cards from A Thing Created (link here)
- Christmas iPhone Case from Rongrong Illustration (link here)
- Holiday Mug from Elm St. Studio Prints (link here)
- Quirky Christmas Light Earrings from Weirdly Cute (link here)
- Texas Christmas Shirt from Mama Essentials (link here)
- Merry Christmas Sign from Daisy and Decor (link here)
- Lighted Christmas Sign from Oskee Rustic (link here)

Please take some time and go check out these amazing artists’ work! Their shops are fantastic and the perfect way to support and enjoy small businesses all across the country. Whether you need creative Christmas gifts or just want to buy a little something for yourself, you’ll find it on Etsy! Now excuse me while I go fill my Etsy shopping cart with cute things!
It’s Friyay! This week went by so quickly and thank the good Lord because I’m exhausted! Hopefully this weekend I’ll be able to do a little Christmas shopping because we all know that’s going to sneak up on us like Thanksgiving has. I could have sworn Halloween was last week. Surprise! It wasn’t. Anyway, last week’s gift guide I focused on the traditional preppy girl in your life (link here) so this week I’d love to suggest a few gifts for the Christmas parties you’ll be going to!
Traditionally, it’s polite to bring a small hostess gift for the lady who is hosting the party. I’m a big fan of gifts that are not only fun but actually useful. My favorite gift on this list are the serving trays. How perfect are they for a party? A great gift is easy to find when the gift relates so well to the event in which it’s for!
What are some of your favorite hostess gifts? Leave me a comment!
Good morning lovelies! I hope you weekend was a little more productive than mine was. David and I were in Fort Worth all weekend watching college football games with his family and I must say, I’ve never seen people quite so spirited over Texas Tech. This Maryland girl is still adjusting to the ways of native Texans! Lazy weekends like this are sometimes exactly what a girl needs. We ate so much that I had to put my “fat pants” on which leads me to the topic of this post, are leggings pants? Honestly, I’m not sure but these comfy gray leggings (link here) are the closest thing to pants you’ll ever find!
I’ve been a big fan of No Nonsense’s leggings for awhile now and these ones are no exception. They’re comfy, well-made, and thick enough that you can avoid show casing every little lump and bump on your thighs and bum. Those are my problem areas (shh! Don’t tell anyone!). I can’t for sure say that leggings are indeed pants, because let’s be honest, some people’s leggings are far too tight for anyone to be comfortable calling them pants. However, these ones come pretty close to being pants instead of leggings.
If you’re going to err on the side of caution like I do when it comes to leggings, then you’ll have a whole new appreciation for long tunics. If I’m going to wear leggings out, I’m not going to wear a regular tee or sweater. I’ll throw on one of my favorite tunics to cover problem areas that give away the fact that I’m not wearing actual pants.
So to go back to our initial question, I guess leggings really aren’t pants but obviously they’re far more comfortable than any pair of jeans could be! During the holidays, I’d say leggings are vital for everyone’s wardrobe because you’ll inevitably stuff yourself with something yummy. Grab yourself a pair of my leggings from No Nonsense before it’s too late!

Happy hump day, gals! Hopefully you’ve recovered after yesterday’s election and all of the stress that comes along with it. Honestly, I sat in my room and ate chocolate and pizza while watching Hallmark Christmas movies. Can you blame me? I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who did this! I wanted to start off a new day with a fun Christmas gift guide to lift our spirits! I’m a pretty preppy person in terms of style and even home decor to a degree, so some of my favorite Christmas gifts have been classic, stylish items. Last year, my boyfriend David got me a Tiffany charm necklace! Talk about classic!
So let’s chat about a few of these super cute gifts! Probably my favorite one on here are those L.L. Bean classic duck boots. I have a pair of my mom’s from the 1980s and they’re still going strong. You can’t go wrong with these! I also love a monogrammed baseball hat to go with my duck boots (I wore a similar combo to work yesterday). Baseball hats are so classic and represent a wonderful American past time. My mom got me a monogrammed hat for my birthday and I wear it at least once a week!
Because I love Jackie Kennedy so much, I had to include a few of her style favorites! Pearls are probably my number one go-to item when I’m throwing on something to wear to work in the morning. I think JKO thought the same thing. You’ll also never see me without a pair of sunglasses, particularly cat-eye. They’re part of my signature look and make a great Christmas gift!
I linked everything in this post in the widget above! As I always say, wait for sales and find discount codes before purchasing. That’s how I get all of my deals! Enjoy your Christmas shopping and celebrate this wonderful season! I have more gift guides to come so keep your eye out!
It’s Christmas Eve Eve and I’m going to be out running errands shortly with my mom getting a few last minute things done! We need to get the turkey for Christmas dinner (my mom is wonderful in the kitchen) and a cake from the bakery for dessert. I’ve always enjoyed these last few days before Christmas. All the hustle and bustle of the stores is kind of fun.
Speaking of stores, one of the last things people remember to shop for is stocking stuffers! Ever since I was little, my mom has always filled ours with fun little goodies and a new toothbrush. The toothbrush is a tradition I intend to do with my own kids some day. As an adult though, there’s a few things I love to find in my stocking or put in someone else’s!
- Nail polish – Find deals on Essie at Marshall’s
- Pens or pencils – Favorites are from the Target dollar section
- Socks – Target has a variety of fun ones for $1.50
- Fragrance refills – Bath & Body Works sometimes has their Wallflowers on sale this time of year
- Loofa – Walmart always has a bin full of them for cheap
- Cookie cutters – Cute, festive, and inexpensive at most stores
Other cute ideas are a pocket-sized manicure set, hand sanitizer, hair ties, lip balm, travel size shower gel, knit gloves, peppermint bark, bubble gum, or makeup. I like to browse the dollar section in Target and the line that leads to the registers at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s for fun little stocking stuffers that won’t cost a fortune. If you can’t find something there, you probably won’t be able to find it at all!
Leave me a comment with your favorite stocking stuffer ideas!
