Outfit Details: Dress (under $20!) | Studded Sandals | Tassel Earrings (only $13!) | Purse (old)
Hey gals! I hope your first few days of spring have been beautiful! It’s warming up really fast here in Dallas and I just finished cleaning out my closet and putting all my spring and summer clothing on the hangers. I absolutely love spring time and all the cute clothes that come with it. I recently did a little shopping (surprise, surprise) and found this fantastic “little black dress” to style for the spring. It’s seriously the perfect go-to basic dress for everyday wear. BONUS: It comes in 6 colors and is currently on sale!!! I linked everything I’m wearing above!
This dress is so comfortable and so easy to style. I found those adorable tassel earrings on sale and decided to wear them with the dress and the rest of the outfit just kinda came together. Gotta admit that tying my chambray shirt around my waist was a total gamble on looking cute in 90’s era styles but I think I pulled it off! Grab a few of these dresses while they’re still in stock and on sale! (Link here). Comment below with your go-to spring styles!

It’s almost spring here in Dallas and I’m really happy about the warmer temperatures we’re having! For a big part of the United States, spring doesn’t really happen until April. Here in Texas, it happens in late February. Some people really hate the year round heat, but for me the Texas heat is where it’s at! As you can imagine this Dallas blogger, was thrilled to break out a spring shift dress and a pair of heels. If no one else has been paying attention to fashion trends for spring, I can tell you that bright floral prints, stripes, and geometric shapes are really in! This dress has all of those things!
I went out for brunch in Downtown Dallas with another blogger friend of mine (check her out here!) and we had a great time shooting some outfits right after brunch. Excuse my food baby if you can see it through my dress, but my french toast was too good! I’ll be writing about what brunch spot we went to in a few days, in the mean time leave me a comment with your favorite brunch spot in Dallas!
Let’s talk about my spring dress here! I have to admit that it’s a few years old and I found it at Old Navy, the gold mine of inexpensive trendy clothing. Like I said, stripes and bold colors like neon pink will be very fashionable this spring! I also paired my dress with a trendy palm leaf necklace from Francesca’s and matching stilettos from Ann Taylor.
I love this look because it’s a great transition outfit from winter to spring, plus who doesn’t look good in a classic shift dress? I’ll be writing more on spring style for 2017 in the next week or so, be on the lookout! Also, for the new bloggers out there, be sure to check out my consulting page for my free services!
Oh my goodness, Valentine’s Day is only a week away and I’m so excited! I love love love this special day not because I like to eat pounds of chocolate (but I do), mostly because I absolutely adore the color pink and giving little gifts to my girl friends. I’m usually a pretty creative person and my favorite things to pick out are themed gifts. For this blog post, I came up with three gifts you’ll love to give to your gal pals!
Coffee themed gift
I’m a coffee lover and anyone who gets me a cute mug is automatically my favorite person. Coffee isn’t just something you sip at your desk, it’s a ritual in many cultures, something to be savored. I can totally get on board with that! My coffee ritual would include a little journaling and a delicious smelling candle like the cute pineapple one above!
Who doesn’t love a fresh manicure every once in awhile? Painting nails can be really relaxing for some people including me, that is until I end up screwing them up by smudging an almost dry nail. Such is life, right? This bright red Essie nail polish is perfect for Valentine’s Day. Include a little nail kit and some hand cream and you have an adorable Galentine’s gift!
Baking lover’s gift
Some people just really love to bake. I wish I were one of those people. Unfortunately, I’m more of the ‘place and bake’ cookie kind of gal. For the special friend in your life who loves to throw on an apron, cookie cutters and sprinkles make the best gifts! And can we talk about how cute that dish towel is? It goes so perfectly with the whole theme!
If you find yourself going to a Galentine’s day party, don’t show up empty handed! Create a thoughtful gift that any gal pal would be excited to receive. Enjoy!
Only a few more weeks until Valentine’s Day! Most of us girls get excited for this special day (unless you’re my mom who’s too practical for all of it.) I wrote this post specifically for you gals to share with your guys. It serves as a little “guidance” for them so they have a few ideas of what Valentine’s gift to get you. We all love the flowers and chocolate that’s a traditional part of the season, but in recent years men, including my boyfriend, have upped the ante a little.
Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas
Last Year, David got me a really cute Kate Spade bag for Valentine’s Day and then took me out to dinner! While not every guy is going to want to put down the cash for a designer hand bag, he knows I’m a fashion blogger and that Kate Spade is my favorite brand ever. In my gift guide, I’ve included gift ideas in a variety of price ranges for however big your Valentine’s Day will be! Remember to send your man the link to your favorite item!

Since having moved to Dallas from the Washington, DC area, I’ve noticed an obvious lack of professional style amongst my peers. Don’t get me wrong, there are some snazzy dressers in this city! And frankly, I don’t always look like a stunner either. However, a professional wardrobe is so important to a young professional’s career. Dallas fashion is much more laid back than that of the DC area, and frankly, I really like that. But I’m never giving up my chic, professional wardrobe.
Personally, my ideal office style is pretty much every outfit worn in the The Devil Wears Prada. I think my “outfit of the day” I’m sharing with you definitely channels the styles featured in the movie. To be honest though, if I had to pick a style to stick with for the rest of my life, it wouldn’t be corporate chic. I’d much rather live out my life in the classic Jackie Kennedy style. Not only was she the First Lady, but she’s just as iconic as her husband was. I’d like to be remembered not only for my style but for the subtle power I had as a lady. And for me, style is power.

Hello lovely! I hope your Christmas was wonderful and full of surprises. Mine certainly was! I spent Christmas in San Antonio with my boyfriends family and we had a ball. Of course, I missed my own family in my home state of Maryland, but this was just as nice! It seems like the week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve is so rushed that I don’t even get time to enjoy the little break or the good sales going on.
Speaking of New Year’s Eve, I’ve been combing my closet for something to wear this weekend and nothing seems to scream “wear me!”. I started browsing a few blogs for inspiration and thought I’d share a few New Year’s Eve outfit ideas with you! I want my life to sparkle and be exciting, and my style should reflect that! Enjoy your New Year’s parties and adventures!
New Year’s Eve Style Guide
Hey girls! I hope your week is going well! Let’s just say I’m glad it’s finally Wednesday. This time of the year just wears me out. Between keeping up with this blog, staying on top of things at work, and trying to get all my decorating done, I get overwhelmed! One of the things that seems to take up a lot of time every Christmas season is figuring out what to get people on my Christmas gift list. I have my own personal tastes and things that I like to give and get and honestly, it drives me crazy that not everyone will appreciate a scented candle!
For the coffee lover in your life, here’s a handy gift guide with fun gifts to give! Coffee is something I can’t live without. My mornings are simply not complete without a little caffeine in my cup! Recently, I bought myself a Christmas Kate Spade travel mug (pictured above) and while simple, it’s the cutest thing! It’s my favorite thing on this list too. Anyway, get to shoppin’ everyone! Enjoy this simple and sweet Christmas gift guide!
